Bella got to spend the night! Grammy and Papa were very excited! She couldn't wait to get her bath, put on pj's, brush her teeth and climb into bed! We watched movies and "old time" music videos. She is such a sweetheart and we love her so much.
Harry Potter has come to town again! Bella started watching HP movies this week, donned her glasses, grabbed her wand and had me add her scar! She has been practicing casting spells ! Tuesday I showed Bella what was making the "noises" in the trees. Cicadas! She was fascinated by the fact that they crawl out of the ground and "bust out" of their shells. Today we wandered the yard and she found the "after" bugs! Most of them were dead, as their life cycle is extremely short, but there were several crawling around. So Bella had to pick them up and save them by putting them back in trees! I've been showing her different bugs and telling her not all bugs need to be run away from screaming! She knows not to touch things if she isn't sure about them. Also told her not to mess with any snakes or spiders. Not a problem with that...she really hates them. So now she has an interest in roly-poly bugs, June bugs, butterflies, and cicadas. She doesn't mind squishing ants! I did tell her not to step on stink bugs...showed her one...told her they were really yucky smelling..she says they smell like skunks! Works for me. Bella says "ticks, fleas and 'squitoes suck your blood like pampires!" True! She was very adamant when I had to call the bug guy because our mist system was out of "juice"...."please tell him to come get the bugs and 'squitoes because the machine is empty and I can't swing!" When Daryl left she politely asked him.."did you get rid of the 'squitoes for me?"
