A Four Year Old's Logic

Headed to the Pumpkin Patch!

Me and B!
Bella and I headed to Shepard's Crossing today to help celebrate Cora's 1st birthday with Cora, Jill, Lennon, Meme and Pappy!  It was a gorgeous day and we had a wonderful time! We wandered through a hay maze, Bella pet a couple farm animals and she picked up a couple more pumpkins!

I've decided that playing board games just doesn't get much better then playing with Bella.  A simple game turns into an adventure in new rules and ways to play. I had no idea that a tiny piece of unmarked plastic could become an ever changing numbered dice. Of course I have no earthly idea what number I've rolled..but she does! And each number and it's representative action changes with each turn! Puzzle pieces turn from simple discs to 'pickles'! LOL!  We played the same dinosaur game more times then I can count...and each time we played it differently. Never a dull moment! I love her imagination, her logic and sense of adventure!

BTW...sometimes just listening to her describe things is hysterical!
Shaking dice.."Watch, Grammy..in the old days people would shake them like this (shaking them normally)..but now we shake them like this!" (blows on them). Okay!!

Helping me in the office she likes to write notes and stick them in envelopes.."Grammy..these notes are for real people so you have to give them to real people" (okay..which real people?) "Ask Papa he knows them." (he knows 'real people'?) "Yes! And he'll give them each one." (Okay! This one is all your's Papa!)

Getting ready to play a marble game.."I don't think I'm suppose to play with these..I might choke!" (Choke?) "Uh huh!" (Why would you choke? We will be playing with them not eating them!) "Well you never know!" (we played with tiny furry fabric balls instead...Lord knows I didn't want her to choke!)

Ghosts!

Bella is with us all weekend!!! Mommy and Daddy are at ComicCon!!

Bella and I are going to go to Paint&Barrel today to paint a ghost! She has really wanted to paint something at a "Paint place"...and today was a family day. It turned out to be just Bella and me..so we had the entire place to ourselves. The instructors were so sweet to Bella!

Temperature Problem

Tuesday was a great day!  Wednesday....not so great!

Munchkin and I painted our pumpkins Tuesday. She decided to paint two small ones and she wanted to wait to paint a big one until next week!  Works for me!  We certainly have lots of pumpkins!

All set to paint!
Pumpkin painting time!
Tuesday was a dance around, watch Jurassic Park, be silly kind of day! It was a lip gloss, talk about Halloween costumes, giggle and laugh day!   (Wish it was a eating food kind of day...she didn't want to eat anything all day. She drank her Scandishake for breakfast though which is a good thing. I'm thinking she might be getting blocked up again.)
Wednesday was not great !  Bella was not happy...she knew Wednesday was going to be flu shot day. The thought of getting a flu shot sort of set her mood (I can't blame her...shots hurt) for the day. She ended up being sent to her room for refusing to pick up a mess she made and yelling at me to pick it up. "You are being mean to me, Grammy!" sob sob "I don't love you right now, Grammy!!" sob sob....We resolved that situation and moved on.  "Sorry, Grammy..I am having a temperature problem". (Do you mean a temper problem?) "Yes...it's just my temper...it is having a temperature problem. But I still love you, Grammy".  She drank some milk but refused to eat.  We headed to the clinic for her shot. I hate when she has to get shots but it was over quickly and her tears ended almost as quickly but her mood stayed in the subterranean level.  Her mood picked up a little when I drove her through her favorite breakfast stop for hash browns, sausage and chocolate milk!

After she ate (half of her hash brown and half of her sausage and half of her milk....still not much food) she started talking about her belly. Listening to her describe her belly issues..."Grammy when my belly hurts low it's my gas but way-high hurting is poopie" (Is your belly hurting low or way-high?) "It hurts way-high more but low, too".  So we headed downstairs so she could talk to my feet (please recall my "feet" post! LOL!).  I can honestly say that she could give a group of bean-eating, gassy men (sorry guys) something to be proud of! I actually complimented her on some of her noises!! Which did get her to laugh and try even harder to make more noises! (Hey...whatever it takes to get her to go!)  Her mood was finally getting better!

Then it was time to do some school work..."Grammy why you make me do school!! I don't have to do school at MeMe's. I don't have to do school at Momma's!" (Because you are too smart not to do school!) Guess I am the bad guy today!!

Nap time brought about another mood decline...but 90% of her mood blues Wednesday was because she was tired.  So the long list of her reasons why she shouldn't take a nap began..."Grammy I too big", "I'm not tired", "I won't be grumpy to Mommy and Daddy", "I don't take naps for MeMe", "I only want a two song nap", "I really don't want to sleep", "I don't love you, Grammy"...and on and on and on.  Let's just say she was zonked before we made it through one full round of "The Hanging Tree"!  When the time came to take her home I had to wake her up.

Our conversation upon her waking up...."Grammy...I still love you" (I love you, Monkey) "Grammy...you shouldn't have made me have a temperature problem" (So it was my fault?) "Yes..you made me have it" (How?) "Because you made me get a shot and you wanted to go upstairs" (Oh...okay...so today was all about me? Your movie was on upstairs so wanting to go back up there was my fault!) "Ah huh...you were mean to me" (knife in my heart motion) (I was mean? Why?)  Raising her voice.."I told you I didn't want a flu shot!!!" (Ohhhh..so because you had to get a shot...that will help you not get sick...you decided that you were going to be mean to me? And be in a bad mood most of the day..You decided you could yell and say mean things to me?)...long pause..."It was my temperature, Grammy...but I still love you now". (Well I'm glad, Monkey, because I will always love you..even when you are angry with me, or tired, or saying things that you don't really mean...I will always love you. It's called loving you unconditionally!) "Like KPerry?" (Yep..like Katy Perry.) [note: she has a song called "Unconditionally" that Bella sings] Big hug and kiss on my cheek. "Well...I love you that too, Grammy" (And I love you, Monkey)

Unconditionally, Monkey..unconditionally!!

Pumpkin Patch

Thursday was Pumpkin Patch day!  They were so sweet to Bella...they were closed when we got there but they opened up early for her!  She donned her new Vogmask and headed out to select just the right pumpkins!  She ran through the hay-maze several times and made sure I didn't get lost in it! (It's only two feet tall..I think I'm okay!) We filled up our wheelbarrow quickly!  We have one HUGE one that we are going to turn into a "turkey" Friday!  Can't wait to see our finished product!

We took some cute photos today. Bella wore a new dress and decided to be "Jane" from "Twilight". She has such a wonderful imagination!  She looked so grown up today in a couple of her pictures.  (Bella, you are getting so big) "I know, Grammy! I used to be a tiny baby, but now I'm growing up. I'm not a baby now I'm a daughter!" (hugs)
Well she finally did it...she actually tried driving her truck....and she LOVED it! She drove all over the place! She even hauled a bunch of her pumpkins in it!  She will have me jogging along with her tomorrow!

Bella will be staying with us Friday night! I'm sure we will have LOTS of fun stuff to do!

Crazy

Crazy week....Monday we had the air-quality checked inside and outside the kid's house and all the results were normal levels....Bryan had his bronchoscopy on Wednesday. He did great. So far they have said it's not pneumonia and the fungal stain hasn't shown any growth yet.  Hopefully Monday we will learn more.  If we can't get a definitive answer they are talking surgical biopsy.   I want my son better!!!!

Bella stayed over Thursday night...love it when she stays!  She is still talking about seeing "Joseph" live. We watched the dvd and listened to the cd several times!  She is also still into "Eye of The Tiger"! So today was workout day!  Thursday night she jumped non-stop on her trampoline for almost 20 minutes!  It worked to loosen stuff because she coughed great for a couple minutes.  She followed it with her breathing treatment and gave me thumbs-up the whole time!  She was willing to jump like a crazy person so she didn't have to do shake-a-booty vest time. Since she had done her morning vest treatment I figured a jumping alternative wouldn't hurt.  She kept saying ..."Feel my heart, Grammy! It's beeping so good!!" Love that she is so into exercising because it is excellent for strengthening her lungs.

Well..for the first time since I started doing this weekly blog I failed to take a picture of Bella and me together. Guess I was a little distracted!  So here are a few pictures of why I am doing this...she has grown up so fast!
